Oh how we heart Dr. M! I wish we could talk to that man every day!
Charlie Claire had a wonderful check up! Overall, Dr. M seems very pleased with her progress and seizure activity. Since the last time we saw him for increased seizure activity things have definitely quieted down and seem to be back to just occurring when waking. He made comments about her very social and dominant personality and was curious how Jackson gets a word in with Chatty Cathy around! :)
The day after the appt with Dr. M. we had Charlie Claire's annual IEP meeting. It was perfect timing to go into his office with the list of goals she has accomplished since October as well as the list of things we are hoping she will accomplish next school year. It was extremely reassuring to us to have Dr. M's feedback and input. We are extremely grateful to have such an amazing dr in C's corner!
We have decided to have Charlie Claire evaluated by the Pediatric Developmental Specialist at VCU. For a couple of reasons...one, we thought it would be a good idea to get a "baseline" on her development at this point and two, just to make sure there isn't anything we are overlooking as far as C's development and the therapies/services she receives. This is something that we requested for our own peace of mind as well as making sure we are staying on top of Charlie Claire's needs! The wait list for the appt is about 4 months so when we set that appt we will also see Dr. M again!
