First...Happy late Mother's Day to all you mamas our there! We hope that you all were celebrated for all the hard work that you do!
Second...
When we first started the blog it was to keep family and friends up to date on Charlie Claire. There was so much happening so quickly that between all things epilepsy and caring for newborn twins Jason and I could barely see straight...there was no way we could have returned all the texts, phone calls and emails we were getting. Then the blog was shared to family and friends of our family and friends and so on, and it reached out to so many more people. We were so grateful for the added support and interest that we sort of forgot that our baby's story was out there!
During that insane time, I searched the internet high and low for information about epilepsy and one of the most heart breaking things at that time for me was not being about to find any success stories. I remember walking into C's neuros office and begging him for a story with a happy ending because I needed something to hold on to. He promptly made me promise that I would stay off the internet and gave me some facts on why he believed things would work out well for Charlie Claire but as a mom I wanted to see proof from other moms that things are going to be ok. As silly as that may sound, it is my truth. I promised myself then that I would keep the blog up after things had calmed down medically for other moms who found themselves in a similar situation.
This brings me to now...things are awesome. There isn't much to report medically and for that I wonder if people are still interested in Charlie Claire's story. I have hesitated about posting lately since the posts would just be what is going on in our daily lives right now but today on my run it hit me...that is the point. Two and a half years ago that is what I wanted. I wanted to find someone else's blog and to see that they had been through hell and back but now they were on the other side and they were living life and doing great!
We hope that you are as interested in Charlie's story at this point as you were when she was having hundreds of seizures a day because in the grand scheme of things we are still on this journey!!! If Charlie's blog only helps one other mama out there then I believe I have paid it forward!
