Last week was Jackson and Charlie Claire's first spring break! I know that they have no idea what spring break is but I do and I can't lie when I tell you that I liked my extra time with them last week and I missed their little f
We had a super fun day at the zoo with some of our sweet friends...
Monster Mash also had an evaluation for speech therapy last week. While C's speech therapist has been coming we have both picked up on a few things that Jax needs some work on. He is an awesome communicator using one word, pointing, etc. and he is also a doer so if wants a drink he doesn't ask for it he goes to the fridge and pulls out the juice. We are glad that Allison will be the one seeing Jackson and we are pretty sure Jax is equally as excited since he has a crush on Allison! :)
On Monday we took Charlie Claire to Richmond to get a "second opinion" with another eye dr. It's not that we disagree with what her current eye dr is saying, we just don't always feel that he listens to the concerns we have about C's vision. Jason spent the day with Jackson and my sweet friend joined me on the road trip (she is an awesome note taker!!) The appointment itself went really well, Charlie Claire is such a trooper. The only time she got ticked was when they needed to do the drops to dilate her pupils. The dr said her eyes look great and healthy. She does have dissociated vertical deviation (DVD). It mainly means that she has some spontaneous eye movements. The dr said hers is pretty minimal and hopefully she will grow out of it. It's nothing to be concerned with at this time. We have also noticed the past week that the "weird" eye thing C was doing back in January which landed her in the EMU is something she has complete control over...she now does it on command and LOVES when people laugh at her for doing it! She, thankfully, did it on command for the eye dr as well who 100% agreed with Dr. M (neuro) that this is NOT neurological...especially since she does it on command. There is a muscle (inferior) in the eyes that Charlie Claire has apparently realized she can manipulate and since she knows it gets a rise out of people she continues to do it!
