4-12: the level that is considered therapeutic
On one hand it is nice to know the medicine isn't at a therapeutic level because we haven't seen much of an improvement with her episodes and that means we have some room to play around with the dose. On the other hand, living our life in 2 week increments is kind of crappy.
Dr. M isn't 100% sure why C's level isn't higher than what it currently is. In August she was taking 5mg twice a day and her level was 0.9. She is now up to 25mg twice a day. Dr. M is not upping the lamictal just yet. He wants Charlie to come off the phenobarb first to see if that in itself causes the lamictal level to increase.
Charlie Claire's last dose of phenobarb will be on October 14th and we will touching base with VCU at that time to get further medication instructions.
Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your
thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds
anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence,
decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success.
